“I came to Ukraine to dedicate my life to helping others,” — philanthropist Vasile Bud
Vasile has about six years of work in the construction industry behind him. The man previously specialized in electrical installation work, installed and reconstructed plumbing and heating systems. He himself was born in Romania, where he actually practically mastered the construction profession. Later, he moved to the UK, where he worked as a manager in one of the local companies. Now Vasile is inspired to help Ukrainians. He moved to Kyiv to support us all and joined a number of volunteer initiatives.
“Too many people in this world put their desires above the values and needs of others. This is what makes our world more difficult to live in and, as a rule, harms. I can’t do that,” says Vasile.
Since the man began living in Ukraine, he has been volunteering almost every day. In particular, he participates in urgent reconstruction in “Dobrobat” and other volunteer organizations, and also repairs bicycles, which are then handed over to residents of the deoccupied territories. Altruism and love for people became for Vasile, to some extent, the idea and purpose of moving. The man has been in the ranks of Dobrobat since mid-February. All this time he has been helping the affected residents of the Kyiv region.
“What always amazes and pleases me about volunteering is that such work has no barriers and borders, that people from different parts of the world and of any social status can work so harmoniously for the benefit of others.”
Vasile, together with other volunteers, rebuilds roofs, clears rubble, and carries out dismantling work on locations in a coordinated and effective manner. He does not count the number of trips, because he has the time and energy to help others. The man contributes to a common cause for the benefit of Ukrainians. And helping others is a source of happiness for him.
“I am motivated by pure happiness and satisfaction from such work. Both happiness and gratitude in the eyes of the people we help make every drop of sweat and minute spent helping a family or person even more valuable,” Vasile concludes.
