2 MONTHS UNDER THE RUBBLE: DOBROBAT FINDS A LIVE SNAKE IN KYIV! 🐍
The house collapsed onto the family, but everyone survived. Two months later, a live snake was found under the debris.
On the night of April 15–16, during a massive attack on Kyiv, part of a missile struck a house in the city’s Podilskyi district where Yeva’s family lived. The house collapsed right on top of the people. Miraculously, everyone survived.
Dobrobat volunteers are now helping the family clear the rubble, dismantle damaged structures, and remove debris to give them a chance to rebuild their home.
The family learned about Dobrobat shortly after the tragedy—journalists visiting the scene advised them to reach out for help. Moreover, Yeva’s grandfather already knew about us, having previously volunteered with Dobrobat in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Amid all this pain, a story unfolded that moves people to tears.
A dog, a cat, and three pet snakes lived in the house with the family. The dog was pulled from the rubble on the very first day. The cat survived too. But the snakes vanished after the strike, and it seemed they stood no chance.
Yet, during the dismantling of the ruins, volunteers found one of them—alive. Two months under the rubble.\
This is more than just a story about a destroyed home. It is a story of how, after terrifying nights, people still find the strength to carry on, clear the ruins, save their loved ones, and start rebuilding from scratch.
