Five regions, nearly 200 volunteers involved and even more homes restored: a weekly review.

Another week of urgent recovery is behind us. About 200 volunteers have joined to help the affected citizens. As a result, even more Ukrainians have protected and warmer homes, and we all together became one step closer to the desired Victory.
Now, we report. Volunteers of the Kyiv branch went to the locations to help the victims in Kozarovychi, Vorzel, Makariv, Demydiv and Irpin. It took almost two weeks for the volunteers to repair an 8-apartment house in Kozarovychi, partially destroyed by enemy “strikes”. The volunteers repaired the roof – dismantled the old roof, completely replaced the roof boarding, covered it with a diffusion membrane, and mounted a metal profile with components. They also installed a new and reliable front door.
Three times groups of volunteers went to Demydiv. They urgently restored roofs in houses affected by the russian occupation. In Vorzel, they helped clean the damaged premises of Kyiv Regional Psychoneurological Hospital # 2. Volunteers removed furniture, dismantled doors, door frames, and parquet flooring, and cleaned the walls and ceilings, preparing the room for further modern repairs. They also cleared the construction debris in two houses in Makariv. Again, groups of volunteers completed dismantling works and cleaned up the territory. Finally, in Irpin, the volunteers started repairing the roof of a couple whose house burned down after an enemy shelling. The family plans to restore the house gradually. In the meantime, volunteers are repairing the roof to preserve the surviving elements.
Kharkiv construction battalion always helps educational institutions in the city. Volunteers cover the broken windows with OSB boards. As the enemy shelling of Ukrainian cities and the Kharkiv region does not stop, this is the only optimal option to protect buildings from destruction due to weather conditions. This week, Dobrobat volunteers replaced broken glass windows in two kindergartens, one school and the Kharkiv Regional Center for Vocational Education, Printing Media Technologies and Mechanical Engineering.
In Mykolaiv, volunteers urgently restore the roof of the Polytechnic College. After several rocket attacks on the building and adjacent territories, it needs to be restored. Volunteers have already repaired 700 square meters of the roof: dismantled the old slate, partially repaired the rafters and covered the roof with a film to protect the premises from the bad weather conditions. In addition, they filled the broken windows in the event hall and neighbouring classrooms with OSB boards and began to repair the roof of the second building.
Volunteers of the Zaporizhzhia branch came to the aid of residents of Novosofiyivka, Vilnyansk raion. For three days in a row, a group of volunteers cleared the territory of private housing from construction debris, covered the roof with a protective film, and dismantled broken windows and doors. Afterwards, the volunteers insulated the windows with OSB boards and mounted new doors.
Volunteers from the Kherson region also keep their finger on the pulse of reconstruction. Last week, volunteers visited the “Kinovideoprokat” enterprise of the Kherson Regional Council, where the cinema and concert hall is located. An explosive wave destroyed the premises after an enemy “strike” nearby. The Dobrobat volunteers, together with the enterprise employees, boarded up the windows on the facade of the building, dismantled some of them and cleaned the territory, collecting broken glass.
With small, coordinated steps, we keep doing a great thing. Let’s rebuild the country together!
